What is Orange Collar Academy?

OCA is a training institute built specifically for the datacenter, Bitcoin mining, and high-performance compute industry. We were co-founded by the Bitcoin Mining Institute, LFG Mining, and Mindful Mining to solve the workforce shortage that’s constraining the entire sector.

What does “orange collar” mean?

Orange collar is the new category of skilled worker that sits at the intersection of traditional trades and modern technology. These are the operators and technicians who wire electrical systems, troubleshoot network stacks, manage firmware, and keep energy and compute infrastructure running. Blue collar meets high tech.

Who are your programs designed for?

Anyone ready to work. Career changers from oil and gas, trades, IT, or other fields. New entrants to the workforce. Existing mining or datacenter staff looking to upskill. We also partner with community organizations and workforce development agencies.

How long are the courses?

Our core specialty courses are 8 weeks. We also offer shorter programs — a 52-hour and 80-hour Intro to Mining, BTC Fundamentals, and accelerated OSHA certification. Every program is designed for speed to competency.

Do I need prior experience?

Not for most programs. Our BTC Fundamentals and Intro to Mining courses start from zero. Specialty courses in electrical theory and networking assume basic aptitude but no formal credentials. The Oil & Gas Upskill program is designed for workers who already have field experience.

Is the BTC mining course certified?

Yes. OCA offers the first certified Bitcoin mining coursework on the market. Our curriculum was developed directly with operating facilities and reflects real-world operational requirements.

Do you help with job placement?

Our programs are built around creating job-ready operators. We work directly with mining operations, facility developers, and infrastructure companies who need skilled talent. Our goal is placement, not just graduation.

What operational services do you offer?

Deployment, full site operations, consolidations, call center operations, network support, security, and engineering. Every operator we deploy is trained through our own programs.

Where are you located?

Contact us for current training locations and facility information. We also work with communities and organizations to bring training programs to where they’re needed.
